1928 Stefan Wewerka was born on 27 October, the second son of the sculptor Rudolf Wewerka and his wife Margaret, née Weber, in Magdeburg Wilhelm city. Schooling in Magdeburg on the Berthold-Otto-school. (During school occasional meetings with the anti-fascist priest Dr. Peter Lackas whose conversations about religion, art and politics provided an important counterpoint to the Hitler Youth.) The end of 1944 Collection for the Reich Labor Service. (During a train ride to military recruiting office in Halberstadt he presents himself in the Harz mountains from where the mother had been evacuated.) 1945-46 After the war for half a year in the studio of his father in Winsen Aller (Lüneburg Heath). 1946 The father returned to Magdeburg. 1946-1950 Studied architecture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Berlin, as a student of Max Taut, Eduard Ludwig and Georg Leowald. 1948/1949 Together with Werner Rausch (re) construction of the International Students Home Eichkamp. 1949 England travel (from London to Scarborough, Yorkshire). (Will be impressed by the landscape and garden architecture and undamaged by war "mean architecture".) 1950 Work on various construction projects and competitions in the brothers Luckhardt in Berlin office. From one of the competitions is a works contract: The residential tower at Kottbusser Tor. Travel to Holland (Amsterdam, Rotterdam). Makes the acquaintance of the architects Huijg Aart Maaskant, Willem van Tijen, Aldo van Eyck, Jaap Bakema. A strong impression on him the buildings, especially the De Stijl group. 1951 First prize in the competition for the country's Hostel Bonn-Venusberg. 1952-1954 Moving to Bonn to oversee the construction of the country's Hostel Bonn-Venusberg. 1953 Stops at the CIAM meeting (Congrès international de l'Architecture Moderne) to Aix-en-Provence. Learn Monsignor Otto Maurer know who runs the gallery Next St. Stephan. 1956 Art Congress in Seckau monastery in Styria hosted by Otto Maurer. Here he meets Hundertwasser, Arnulf Rainer, Pierre Restany, Josef Mikl, Wolfgang Hollegha, Anton Lehmden, Markus Prachensky, Hans Hollein and HC Artmann. Drawings of "Erdarchitektur" arise. 1959 Marriage with Ingrid Broich and birth of son Alexander. The CIAM (Congrès international de l'Architecture Moderne) dissolves their XI. Meeting in Otterlo / Holland and is founded in the TEAM X (Ten) (including George Candilis, Shadrach Woods, Alison & Peter Smithson, Jacob Berend Bakema, Aldo van Eyck). 1960 If the first X-TEAM meeting invited in Bagnols-sur-Cèze in France and puts his Erdarchitektur here. Reunion with Alison and Peter Smithson. 1972 Film "Paestum" (with Al Hansen) and "The Last Meeting" Early 1973 Back to Cologne. 1977-1993 Professor at the Cologne University of Applied Sciences. 1977-1988 Cooperation with the company TECTA. He painted numerous tables and chairs, kitchen tree, Cella and other furniture. 1982 Begins to deal with the development of clothing. from 1983 Steel sculptures 1985 Inauguration of the he designed TECTA Expo pavilions. 1987 Participation in the documenta 8 in Kassel, for which he designed a pavilion and the "overseer chair". The pavilion is constructed one year later at the Kunstakademie Münster.
