About The Artist: Achilleas Droungas

Achilleas Droungas studied set design and engraving at the Athens School of Fine Arts (1959-1964) under Kostas Grammatopoulos. In 1966, on a scholarship from the State Scholarship Service, he studied the decoration of traditional houses in western Macedonia and in 1970, on another scholarship from the same organization, he continued his studies until 1973 at the Slade School of Fine Arts in London. About The Medium: Lithograph

A print created using flat stones or metal plates. The artist creates a lithograph by drawing an image directly onto the printing element using materials like lithograph crayons or special grease pencils. After this, the drawing is transferred from the plate to the paper in multiples. A lithograph will not have dots when examined with a magnifying glass.
