About the artist:

Adrian Rovátkay was born in Hungary in 1896. He was once a painter and professor at Budapest's School of Applied Arts, and worked at restoring many old paintings. He developed his own quasi-impressionist style, with lofty/ethereal subjects rendered in soft, earthy tones.
