about Histoire de rats (Alexandre Kojève II)

Histoire de rats is suite of 14 portraits by Swiss artist Alberto Giacometti that was originally published in 1947 by Les Editions de Minuit, Paris.

The plates were cleaned and printed by original printers Lacouriere et Frelaut, Paris in 1995 at the request of Larry Saphire for a complete record of Giacometti’s work. Giacometti, who had been friends with Bataille since 1929, created three portraits for this publication: "D" is the author himself under his pseudonym Dianus, "B" is Diane Bateille and "A" is Alexandre Kojeve.
