About the artist:

Alexander Hewitt grew up in the suburbs of Houston, Texas. He graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting from the University of Houston. He is currently residing in New York City and working on a Masters of Fine Arts at the New York Academy of Art. Hewitt has been working on portraits since he was a child, and is self-taught. His great grandfather was George Kieffer, a painter from Springfield, Missouri. Hewitt's family believes that he has inherited his grandfather's gifts, and Hewitt considers Kieffer a big inspiration for in his practice. He likes to paint things that inspire him and also things he finds beautiful.
