This hand-colored lithograph by African American artist Alvin Carl Hollingsworth uses color very precisely.

The composition shows a reclining nude figure, above whom hangs a lone light bulb and beside whom sits a solitary apple. The entire composition is a rich electric purple and the only deviations from this are the bright red of the apple and the soft cobalt blue of the light bulb. This print is signed, titled, and numbered in pencil.
