Escartin was born in Barcelona, Spain in 1938. He attended the High School of Fine Arts, where he exhibited three times and won several first prize awards. He exhibited in Leon, Spain in 1960, a solo exhibition, and again in 1964 in Leon, Barcelona, and Madrid in group exhibitions.
