About the artist:

Anne Turyn is a fine art photographer and educator living in New York City. She is currently on the faculty of Pratt Institute and Bard High School Early College Queens. Her work has been widely exhibited including at the Museum of Modern Art, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Denver Art Museum, The Center for Creative Photgraphy, the Walker Art Center, George Eastman House, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. A book of her photographs, Missives, was published by Alfred van der Marck Editions. She has been included in many publications including The Pleasures and Terrors of Domestic Comfort, Vanishing Presence, Aperture #130, The Nature of Photographs, A Thousand Hounds, among others. Turyn founded and edited the artists' chapbook series, Top Stories, which most often featured one artist per issue. Turyn edited a volume entitled Top Top Stories, published by City Lights.
