Lectures, training sessions, mentor ships and fundraising. 2001 - 2003 Beijing Bureau of Hydraulic Research & Engineering, Beijing, China Taught ecological design and sustainable water systems to departments in the Planning Bureau. Wrote the city guidelines for sustainable water systems and stream bank restoration. Led workshops for eco-activists and teacher training. 1999 - present Living Water System, Bay Front Park, Duluth, Minnesota Assisted Jill Jacoby to initiate system to process run off on Lake Superior. 1999 - present Urban Water Works to Protect Willamette River, Portland, Oregon Community meetings, lecture, workshop with city departments. Project to process non-point pollution through parks. Successful pilot project at the DaVinci School, spawned funding for schools to recycle their run-off. 1997 The Green SOS Handbook, Sichuan, China Funded activist handbook, developed by the graduate students in Environmental Studies at Sichuan University, Green SOS. www.greensos.org 1996 Public Art Concerning Water, Lhasa, Tibet From an invitation from Tibetan artists, organizing and development. 1995 Installations/Events on Fu and Nan Rivers Chengdu, Sichuan, China Gathered 25 artists to create first such public events in China. Many artists continued with other public events about water in Chinese cities. 1995 Watershed Map, Swede Hollow Park, St. Paul, Minnesota A community project to celebrate the park’s water and history. Worked with artist and educator, Chris Baeumler. 1993 Project Development Workshop, Duluth, Minnesota Developed art works addressing local water issues. In collaboration with the Pollution Control Agency and the Hubert Humphrey Institute of Public Affairs on the St. Louis River and Lake Superior. 1993 - 2003 Teaching Eco-Activist Art, Trinity University, San Antonio, Texas Focused students and the community on the Edwards Aquifer and the San Antonio River. The citizens action group that formed succeeded in creating the largest aquifer preservation park in the USA. Damon lead a four-day charrette to design the human interaction inside the park. 1991 - 2004 Citizens Rights and Responsibilities, University of Minnesota Project on water in collaboration with Hubert Humphrey Institute for Public Affairs, Minnesota Extension Service and Water Resource Research Center. Installation exhibition and concurrent community projects. 2011 – current Eco-Structures, Sierra Nevada, CA.
