About the artist:
Bob Elgas is a life-long cattle rancher in Montana and a naturalist who has gained worldwide renown for his work with wild geese. His studies have taken him to all of the Continental United States, most of Canada and many foreign countries. He has made numerous Arctic expeditions under the sponsorship of World Wildlife Fund, The International Council for Bird Protection, The Smithsonian, and the Department of the Interior. As a result of his research efforts, the California Tule White-fronted goose, ANSER ALBIFRONS ELGASI was named in his honor. Elgas's Art work, which closely parallels his interest in wild birds, has achieved some outstanding honors.
