About the artist:

Bruce Bacon was born in New York City, grew up in Weston and Westport, Connecticut, and lived in New York City and Sheffield, MA for the last 15 years of his life. He taught at the School of Visual Arts from 1969 to 1986. After graduating from RISD, he went on to create a large, diverse, unique body of work that included paintings, sculpture, drawings, constructions, commercial design, architecture, children’s books and illustration. Bruce created films of John Cage, Buckminster Fuller, and Marshall McLuhan, and photographed many leading personalities and entertainers for national magazines. He exhibited his work in over 30 galleries and museums in the United States and Europe. In everything he did he revealed a gentle wit, great gifts, and an unquenchable curiosity of life.
