About the artist:

Charles Lanier was born in Yugoslavia in 1938. Arrived in Paris in 1958 and studied as a free student at Beaux-Arts. Began painting in 1961 after his studies at Beaux-Arts. Arrived in the United States in 1969 and painted and exhibited his work throughout galleries in this country, including the Palm Springs Gallery. His magnificent sense of color has been an instrumental factor in his great success as an artist. As a student in the French school of art, he has well combined techniques from his studies in this school with those he has acquired as a result of painting in America.
