Dan spent his childhood growing up in Colorado and New Mexico. Dan was born in Minnesota in 1949. After graduating from high school in Santa Fe, NM, Dan went to California to pursue his studies in art at California College of the Arts in San Francisco/Oakland, where he graduated with a BFA in 1972.
