About the artist:
Known for his abstracts in acrylic as well as for his collages, David Leverett studied at Nottingham College of Art, 1957-61, and at the Royal Academy Schools from 1961-64. David Leverett was working as a designer and scenic design assistant before painting and teaching from 1965. In 1966 he had the first of a series of shows at the Redfern Gallery, London. David Leverett has taught widely in England and abroad and he was a Visiting Artist at the Royal Academy Schools, the Royal College of Art and at Hornsey College of Art, London.
