Don Munz

American (1931)

About the artist:

Don Munz is a native Californian, who constantly draws on his unlimited supply of local beauty and rich memories for the landscapes he paints. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree, with honors, from Art Center College of Design, and completed his Master's degree at California State University of Los Angeles. He holds a California Lifetime College Level Teaching Credential and taught art classes at Pasadena City College for several years. Throughout his life, he has found inspiration in the little known back country areas he sought out, as well-springs for his peace of mind. He now seeks out these places as images for his paintings. One of his goals as a painter is to share his love of the undisturbed natural beauty still to be seen if you look, as he does, in out-of-the-way places. For many years, Don designed and printed his own original serigraph editions, giving him the technical experience he now uses to create paintings using Impressionist techniques.
