Emil Schill (born February 3, 1870 in Basel; 11 January 1958 core) was a Swiss painter. Emil Schill was born the fifth of six children in Basel. His father, a wealthy merchant who supported him in his desire to become a painter. Schill heard in Basel lectures on art history at Jacob Burckhardt.
