Raised in a village near Venice, he was inspired by such masters of color as Georgione, Titan and Veronese. Campagnola, who began as a sculptor, is an expressionist whose paintings provoke an impression of force combined with serenity. He studied at the Academy of Fine Art in Rome, and was awarded a scholarship by the government of Italy. He has exhibited at the Biennale in Venice, the Quadriennale in Rome, the Museum of Besancon, the Salon d'Automne and the Galerie Charpentier in Paris, where he was selected for the Greenshields Prize. His work has been purchased by the Municipality of Paris and by the French Government.
