About the artist:

Florina Sbircea is a New York-based artist.

Her work has been exhibited at various galleries in Europe and in the United States including Pennsylvania State University, PA; Artist Space, Sheila C. Johnson Design Center, New York; Aschenbach Gallery, Amsterdam, The Maastricht Biennial, The Netherlands; Gallerie Kreathek, Germany; The National Museum of Art, Cluj-Napoca, Romania, amongst others.

She received an MFA in Painting from Parsons School in NYC and a BFA from the Academy of Fine Arts in Cluj-Napoca, Romania.

On a piece of paper, the artist has put down a ground of thick white paint on top of which a grid was created using silverpoint. Directly in the center of this grid are two perpendicular lines that meet at the center and are done in gold leaf.
