The Tuchfarber Company was established by Frank Tuchfarber in 1881 located in Cincinnati, OH. At the time Tuchfarber Co. had made a name for themselves for making lithographs on both paper, metal, and glass as well as manufactured enamel iron show cards. Eventually they changed the name of the business to F. Tuchfarber. Various companies took a like to what F. Tuchfarber Co. was producing at the time and were contracted to make advertising items. Among these companies were a wide variety of breweries from across the country; they hired to Tuchfarber to produce advertising sign that would advertise both the brewery as well as the products that they sold. Just some of the brewers that F. Tuchfarber Co. produced signs for were breweries like Deppen Brewing Company, Barbey’s Inc Brewery, Reading Brewing Company, Lauer Brewing Company, Sprenger Brewing Company, Flock Brewing Company, Stegmaier Brewing Company, Thomas Ryan Brewing Company, Denver Brewing Company, Eigenbrot Brewery, Schlitz Brewing Company, Pabst Brewing Company, Park Brewery, Jungs Brewing Company, Gerke Brewing Company, Gambrinus Brewing Company, Iroquois Brewing Company, Wm. J. Lemp Brewing Company, Schaefer Meyer Brewing Company, Theo Hamms Brewing Company, Dubuque Brewing and Malting Company, Metz Brothers Brewing Company, Bass Brewing Company, and Pabst Brewing Company just to name a few. The Tuchfarber Company eventually stopped production and closed it’s doors for good in 1900.
