About the artist:
Frederick Hines was an English artist best known for his academic watercolor paintings of forests and pastoral scenes. Replete with historical figures, animals, and sparse rural architecture, Hines’ paintings are intricate and tranquil. Born circa 1852 in England, Hines took up residency in both Essex and London, gaining membership in the Royal Academy, where he exhibited frequently throughout his life.
