About the artist:

George Michaud was of French-Spanish heritage. After completing his studies at Chouinard Art Institute, he established his studio in Southern California. Michaud's work is evocative of the Southwest of his youth and it sparkles with Gallic wit and charm as well. His subjects are unrestricted - the world is captured in his canvases. Always they are expressions of an exuberant acceptance of life. His known awards were: • 1964 17th Annual Madonna Festival, Wilshire Methodist Church: "Through Eternity", Festival Award • 1965 18th Annual Madonna Festival, Wilshire Methodist Church: "Evening Ritual", Jury Award • 1966 19th Annual Madonna Festival, Wilshire Methodist Church: "Newborn", Award of Excellence • 1965 All City Outdoor Art Festival (2700 entries), City of Los Angeles: (title not given), Honorable Mention Award. Unfortunately, he was murdered at age 41 ending a talented career.
