About the artist:

Gigi Boldon began her art career as a graphic artist for Ameritech after earning her bachelor's degree from the Center of Creative Studies in 1983. In 1993, she left Ameritech to pursue her art career full time. Ms. Boldon expresses herself through work in several media, including glass, watercolor, acrylic, paper sculpture, jewelry, and collage. Her pieces have wide appeal as they illustrate scenes from everyday life. Ms. Boldon lives with her daughter, Ariel, in her hometown of Detroit. Gigi's art is inspired primarily by Romare Bearden, Benny Andrews, William Johnson, Jacob Lawrence, Charles McGee, Henri Matisse and Pablo Picasso. She prefers to work in acrylics and mixed media on paper, wodd or canvas but is also adept at watercolor, collage, paper sculpture, stained glass, and airbrush.
