Hall Drake Diteman was born on June 29, 1925 in Portland, Oregon. Mr. Diteman passed away on January 16, 2009 at his home in Billings, Montana. After graduating in 1943 from Billings Senior High School, he attended Northwestern University in Illinois, Pomona College in California, and Yale Divinity School in Connecticut. He received a bachelor's degree from Pomona College. For a time during 1955 in Paris, he studied the classical painters whose masterpieces were exhibited in the Louvre Museum. His career included a prize winning float from the Rose Bowl Parade, teaching, a magazine art director, on the staff of a Billings television station and the Billings Studio Theatre. In 1975, the Franklin Mint in Philadelphia chose Diteman to be one of eight artists in the nation whose work they represented in a bicentennial edition of America the Beautiful fine art prints. His work has been exhibited in museums and galleries throughout the United States, including the Smithsonian Museum, the R. W. Norton Museum in Shreveport, La., and Sotheby Parke Bernet in New York City.
