About the artist:

Horst Scheffler followed from 1949 to 1952 training in carpentry. From 1953 to 1955, he attended the School of Fine Arts in Hanau and from 1956 to 1958 in Hamburg. In 1968 he studied in Switzerland, where he met Richard Paul Lohse and Camille Graeser; in 1969, he comes to Berlin and receives a scholarship from the city of Bremen. In 1970, he went to Paris and met Leo Breuer. From 1971 to 1988, he is an art teacher in Bremen. In 1979, he made a trip to the United States, where he met Rudolf Arnheim.
