About the artist:

The Illman Brothers was an active firm of engravers and printers who were based in Philadelphia in the 19th century. The firm included Edward, George, Henry, and William Illman, and was still in existence in 1907. Charles T. Illman, born about 1842, joined his brothers in the firm after 1860.
