about Ten Who Dared

A poster advertising for a television show on the Mobile Showcase Network program titled "Ten Who Dared", hosted by actor and artist Anthony Quinn that was an adaptation of a BBC documentary series.

The show featured a dramatic retelling of famous explorers and their adventures. The artist creates an iris by using an image of the earth in this minimalist yet bold design.

About The Artist: Ivan Chermayeff

Ivan Chermayeff studied at Harvard University, the Chicago Institute of Design and graduated from Yale University. He was a distinguished member of the Industrial Designers Society of America and the Alliance Graphique Internationale. Ivan has been awarded with a Doctorate Honoris Causa by the Corcoran Museum of Art in Washington, D.C. and by the University of the Arts in Philadelphia. About The Medium: Lithograph

A print created using flat stones or metal plates. The artist creates a lithograph by drawing an image directly onto the printing element using materials like lithograph crayons or special grease pencils. After this, the drawing is transferred from the plate to the paper in multiples. A lithograph will not have dots when examined with a magnifying glass.
