J. Gordon Carr, a New York architect who founded the firm of J. Gordon Carr and Associates, he lived in Greenwich. Mr. Carr, whose specialty was interior design, was responsible for the interiors of such New York buildings as the J. C. Penney Building, at the Avenue of the Americas and 52d Street; the Socony Mobil Building, 150 East 42d Street, and the American Institute of Physics, at 335 East 45th Street. He was a member of the American Institute of Architects, and had retired in 1976.
