Truphémus Jacques was born October 25, 1922 in Grenoble, France. 1934-40, studied at the Lycée Champollion in Grenoble. 1937, first oil paintings: landscapes and still lifes. 1941, he entered the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Lyon for teachers Chancrin, Laplace, and Chartres Vieilly. 1943-45, war and disease forced him to stop his studies. 1945-46, he finds in the painting class of Antoine Chartres friends Cottavoz, Fusaro, Charrin Philibert, Helene Mouriquand, Coquet. 1947 he moved to Paris, he worked as a night watchman, drew the Grande Chaumiere. He first exhibited at the "Salon of the age of 30" with Cottavoz, Bernard Buffet, etc.. It also outlines the "Salon du Sud-Est" in Lyon. 1949, back in Lyon, he exhibited with his painter friends Cottavoz, Fusaro, Charrin, etc.. in the chapel of the school under the label of Ampere "Fair Sansisme". 1950, married in December with Aimee Laurens. 1952, exhibition in the Saarland under the patronage of the newspaper "Art". 1955, meeting of first amateur critic Marius Mermillon.
