About the artist:
Mr. Rosenblum was a native of the Bronx and a graduate of the High School of Music and Art, Bard College and the Cranbrook Academy of Fine Arts in Bloomfield Hills, Mich. He was a violinist in the Seventh Army Symphony in West Germany in the mid-1950's and taught at the School of Visual Arts. Jay Rosenblum has been experimenting with the "Visual Stripe motif" for over thirty years. In his art, he seeks to correlate his great love for chamber music sonatas with freely evolving blocks of color which like the notes in the music transform the work into a cohesive form of art. Jay refers to his work as free association color development. The popularity of his form of expressive painting is evident from the fact that he has been chosen by City Walls, Inc. to design two wall murals in New York City.
