About The Artist: Jean-Francois Ibos

Jean François Ibos was born in 1951 in Viel-Arcy, France. He received a BA in philosophy before studying art at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Toulouse and the Faculty of Art History. Ibos worked and won awards in theater and costumes as well as in the display of women’s fashion and tapestry. Fashion was his element. About The Medium: Screenprint

A stencil process employing a frame on which silk or synthetic fabric is stretched. Stencils are hand-drawn or hand-cut and placed on the stretched fabric and act as a block out when the ink passes through the screen by means of a squeegee onto the paper, the non-stencil areas create the image. Also known as silkscreen or serigraph.
