About The Artist: Joanne Seltzer

Joanne Seltzer was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and raised in Charleston, Wes Virginia. After having majored in journalism at Northwestern University ( she graduated in 1963), she gained her fine arts degree at the University of Michigan. Ms. Seltzer has also attended the New School for Social Research, the Pratt Institute and New York University, at Which schools she gained invaluable experience in photography, photo-silkscreen and...

About The Medium: Lithograph

A print created using flat stones or metal plates. The artist creates a lithograph by drawing an image directly onto the printing element using materials like lithograph crayons or special grease pencils. After this, the drawing is transferred from the plate to the paper in multiples. A lithograph will not have dots when examined with a magnifying glass.
