About the artist:

Mercado was born in 1940 in San Juan de Puerto Rico. He studied at the School of Visual Arts and later at the Pratt Institute in New York. He has participated in exhibitions in New York, California and Puerto Rico. Source: Catálogo General, Primera Bienal de San Juan del Grabado Latinoamericano.
