About The Artist: Jon D’Orazio

Jon D'Orazio was born in 1942 in Youngstown, Ohio. A practicing architect through the sixties, he turned to painting full time in 1970. Soon after, he began a serious study of Oriental life and culture, showing a particular interest in meditation and Buddhism. this strong identification with the East has had a lasting influence on his art. About The Medium: Screenprint

A stencil process employing a frame on which silk or synthetic fabric is stretched. Stencils are hand-drawn or hand-cut and placed on the stretched fabric and act as a block out when the ink passes through the screen by means of a squeegee onto the paper, the non-stencil areas create the image. Also known as silkscreen or serigraph.
