About the artist:

Joseph Guyer Salles was born in São Paulo in 1942. Between 1962/64 attended free courses FAAP where he learned painting and printmaking Nelson Nobrega Marcelo Grassman. He studied painting and printmaking with Glenio Bianchetti Babinski at UNB. Attended Nugrasp in São Paulo, directed by Izhar do Amaral Berlinki. Traveled to New York in 1970, a scholarship at Pratt Graphics Center. Remained at that institution as a professor until 1975. Was professor of printmaking at the Art Barn in Connecticut and Westchester Art Center. Resided in New York until 1984. Imported this period the first press for engraving with micrometrado control that later came to be played in Brazil and is today a model of quality. Founded the "Workshop 76 prints Ltda." In São Paulo. Brought together the best writers of São Paulo and printed engravings, popularizing this art selling to hotels and businesses closed editions. Introduced the art of printmaking for artists who began to use this technique as a means of expression of their art. Worked as a curator in the Department of Culture Itapecerica da Serra - SP 2008 - Travelling Exhibition "prints and watercolors GUYER Salles' organized by SESI 2010 - organized together with recording artists Angelita Cardoso and Cesar Nogueira atelier "Aquaforte" dedicated to engraving and watercolor. 2013 - Professor of watercolor in "The Artist House" - SP Gardens
