about The Gaspee Incident

Kipp Soldwedel's work depicts the infamous Gaspee incident with highly-realistic detail, dramatic contrast, and vibrant color.

Caught in the shallow water off of the coast of Rhode Island, the British Gaspee was torched and destroyed by several American colonists who had witnessed the accident as an act of defiance against Britain for their obstrusive customs searches of American vessels.
