About the artist:

Lila Copeland was born in Rochester, NY, but spent most of her life in New York City and Woodstock, NY. She studied at the Pratt Institute and the Art Studies League of New York. Copeland was known for using mother and child imagery in her work. She has shown all over the world, from the Whitney in New York City to the British Museum in London.
