Louis Touchagues was born in Saint-Cyr-au-Mont-d'Or (Rhône) in 1893. Arriving in Paris in 1923, Touchagues trace the point of his pencil or brush her, half a century of Parisian life. Designer - Illustrator: drawings for fabrics and silks are noticed by Paul Poiret. He collaborates with various illustrated papers (The Living Art, New literary ...) and satirical (Crapouillot, Le Charivari ...). Parliamentary draftsman, he is delegated by the Fine Arts as a draftsman at the first Peace Conference as well as the arrival of General de Gaulle in Paris. He illustrated many books of Colette, S. Guitry, Mr. Achard, Mr. Ayme, G. Duhamel ... His three albums: Women and models, Parisian and Waves in St Tropez reflect his favorite subject: women . Painter: Exhibitions alongside Chagall, Dufy, Zadkine, Marie Laurencin be recognition. Abroad, Amsterdam, New York, Pittsburgh, Lisbon, Lausanne, Geneva, Tunis, London receive its exhibitions and museums have one or more paintings. Stage sets and costumes: Lyon by his friend Henri Beraud and Marcel Achard, he worked for Dullin at the Workshop for Louis Jouvet in French Comedy, at the Athenaeum, the Michaudière, Opera and Opéra Comique. Art festivals: Touchagues is the designer and great theme nights organizer where he transforms lounges, hotels and castles by the magic of trompe l'oeil, the fireworks and costumes (Customs evening Rousseau, Heaven Fantastic evening at Cannes...). Major works: many murals and frescos for individuals, Chapel frescoes Mont Cindre near Lyon gemmail panel for the F. Roosevelt Metro station in Paris, Lasserre mobile ceiling, painted glass for the windows of the Museum Art Moderne in Paris. It decorates the bar-smoking room of the French Comedy. He died July 20, 1974 in Paris, he is buried in Saint-Cyr-au-Mont-d'Or.
