About the artist:

Malcolm Parle was a noted artist, whose portraits included Jacques Cousteau, New York Mayor Abe Beame, and the British royal family. Mr. Parle, a native New Yorker, had lived in southern California since 1992. With his wife Annette Bigras Parle, a painter, he co-founded Parle Portraits in Manhattan. Malcolm came to art later in life after a successful career in finance. He was a licensed pilot, obtaining his instrument rating at age 55, an avid cyclist and professional photographer.
