Russian (1887–1985)
Marc Chagall (Russian/French, 1887-1985), took a trip in 1931 to the Holy Land, which shook his perspective, spiritually and creatively.
In 1960 he created Drawings from the Bible, consisting of 24 color lithographs illustrating various scenes from the Bible. Adam and Eve are depicted here picking the forbidden fruit, with the snake camouflaged into the tree’s leaves.
