about Paris Opera Ceiling

Marc Chagall (Russian/French, 1887-1985) was commissioned to paint the ceiling of the Paris Opera in 1960.

Over the course of eight months and using 440 pounds of paint, the ceiling was completed. Chagall’s ceiling is now one of the Opéra’s most popular attractions. This is a print of the completed ceiling.
