(76.2 x 51.44 cm), Frame Size: 36 x 27.5 inches, Printer: Mourlot, Paris, Publisher: Society of Friends of the National Marc Chagall Biblical Message Museum, Nice, Reference: No. 142 "Chagall's Posters Catalogue Raisonne" by Charles Sorlier, Description: Interpretative lithograph executed by Charles Sorlier from the left section of one of the preliminary dummies for the large picture, "The Song of Songs III". This poster was printed in order to publicize the National Biblical Message Museum in Japan. 8500 proofs with text. Several proofs with text were pulled on Arches vellum and reserved for the artist. In this printing the last line of the text was eliminated. A certain number of posters were signed and give by Chagall, to express his gratitude, to the contributing members of the "Society of Friends of the National Marc Chagall Biblical Message Museum, Nice." These proofs are not numbered, but are marked with the stamp of the Association. In addition, 200 proofs without text were pulled on Arches vellum, numbered and signed. Several artist's proofs.
