A courtroom sketch by well-known artist, Marilyn Church.
This drawing depicts a moment from one of the longest trials in US history, when Jean Harris, a headmistress of a school for girls in Virginia, was tried for 14 weeks for the murder of her ex-lover, Herman Tarnower. Harris was eventually convicted of the crime. In this scene, signed and titled by the artist, Harris sits isolated on the witness stand, pleading her innocence.
