About the artist:

Mary Anne Watson is an artist who lives and works in Canada. In the United States, she worked for several years in the Bob Blackburn Printmaking Workshop, in New York City. In this connection, her work has been shown and sold through the Wehye Gallery and the Museum of Modern Art Lending service, as well as the Knox Albright lending service in Buffalo. She has exhibited in many juried shows in the United States and Canada. Mary Anne is a member of the National Art League, Burr Artists, The Salmagundi Club, the National League of American Pen Women, and the National Association of Women Artists. She has been listed since 1990 in Who’s Who In American Art. In Canada, she is a member of The Bruce Peninsula Society of Artists and The Toronto Arts and Letters Club. In the United States, she has won a number of awards. One of these, in 1986, was a one-woman show for winning the Individual Artist’s Showcase. Another was the Warren E. Bower Memorial Award given at the Salmagundi Club in 1988.In May 1991; she received the Dr. and Mrs. I.C.Gayner Award, from The National Association of Women Artists.

Graduated from the Ontario College of Art, Toronto, and spent her postgraduate year as an assistant in the Graphic shop. In the United States, she received a B.Sc. degree as an art specialist, from New York University. Before leaving Canada, MaryAnne won that country ‘s top printmaking award (The C.W.Jeffries Award} for the year 1965.
