About The Artist: Mino Maccari

Mino Maccari was an Italian painter. His work was part of the painting event in the art competition at the 1948 Summer Olympics. Maccari was one of the founders of the political magazine Il Selvaggio, which was launched in 1924. Maccari was born in Siena. At the age of 19, he enlisted and fought in World War I as an artillery officer. Having returned to Siena in 1920, he graduated in law and started working at a legal practice in Colle di Val...
