Nell Blaine was inspired by the flower arrangements of her longtime aide, Jestina Forrester for this lithograph.
Nell suffered from polio which required her to have full-time help, as she was wheelchair-bound after contracting the disease at age 37. Jestina worked for Nell from 1976 until Nell’s death in 1996. This print was published by the Metropolitan Opera Guild and then exhibited in the Opera House.
