Oscar Florianus Bluemner was originally trained as an architect, but then discovered his love of painting and creating artworks.
His technical background is apparent in this pencil drawing from October 1916. The midday sun rises over a barn or house in this sketch, possibly a study for a painting. Bluemner created many works focused on the buildings and landscapes of early 20th century New Jersey.
