With her hands clasped underneath her chin and elbows resting on the table before her, the female figure's eyes appear to jump out of her eye sockets and avoid the gaze of the viewer. Typical of the artist's Cubist work, this image shows a clear disregard for conventional portrait conventions and seeks to differentiate itself by means of radical use of perspective and angles.
