Pauleen Micallef was born in 1951 in the United Kingdom but moved to Malta. She is married to Tony, has three children Natasha, Gino and Paul and six grand children: Martina, Mikela, Wyatt, Leon, Elysia and Emma. She has been painting all her life and attended various workshops with international artists, hailing from United Kingdom, Germany, Norway, South Africa and Poland.
Her works have progressed from impressionism to bold expressionism. She looks up to Egon Schiele, Picasso, Vincent Van Gogh, Degas and Rembrandt. Her main mentors were the late Ms Spiteri Stains and Olaug Vethal. She paints scenic, floral subjects, portraiture and the human figure. She is a vibrant artist transmitting a feeling of positivity and joy at whoever views her works. Her mediums are acrylics, oils, pastels, inks, watercolours, charcoal and chalks.
She has works in private collections locally and abroad. She is a regular contributor to philanthropic events.
