This piece, whose title translates to "Cleopatra’s Nose", is a surrealist geometric op art screenprint.
A city’s buildings are cloned and repeated down into infinity, surrounded by infinite hands, dripping stars, and checkerboard-gridded streets. The original painting for this print was painted, as dated on the left, on October 22, 1972. The full French title is "Le Nez de Cleopatre: S’il est ete plus court, toute la face de la terre aurait change" which translates to "The Nose of Cleopatra: If it was shorter, the whole face of the world would need to be changed".
