This mostly gray poster is modeled after an untitled 1983 lithograph by Plagens.

A red circle touches the four outer edges of the gray space and in the center sits a green iron cross with asymmetric lines and angles and the shape of a skull made from what looks like newspaper clippings.

About The Artist: Peter Plagens

Peter Plagens is an American artist, art critic, and novelist based in New York City. He is most widely known for his longstanding contributions to Artforum and Newsweek as a senior writer and art critic from 1989–2003, and for what critics have called a remarkably consistent, five-decade-long body of abstract formalist painting. About The Medium: Screenprint

A stencil process employing a frame on which silk or synthetic fabric is stretched. Stencils are hand-drawn or hand-cut and placed on the stretched fabric and act as a block out when the ink passes through the screen by means of a squeegee onto the paper, the non-stencil areas create the image. Also known as silkscreen or serigraph.
